When WoW servers are offline.... and there is only one for people to go to... this is what happens. It got worse from this pic. | | Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 | | 10:13 am |
End of one journey, start of another So many of you guys know the game "World of Warcraft". Many of you have had your live taken over by WoW. We play it too. Although very very slowly.
So after I think a year and a half, we finally got our characters to lvl 70. So we have reached the end of the road, but start on a new path to make better lvl 70 characters and to go on all new adventures with them.
With lvl 70 came new flying mounts which I have to say are very cool. You can now explore areas of the game that you could not get to before and go on new quest that are only reachable this way.
Hopefully, the new expansion pack won't come for another couple of months, cause it would be nice to be lvl 70 for a little while before we have to work to get to 80. | | Tuesday, February 20th, 2007 | | 10:48 am |

Sat nights photo Shoot Last Sat night, Tracy and I decided to shoot a new set for ShutterGirls.com in the spirit of Halloween. We went back and forth about what we wanted to shoot and some of the ideas would be too involved or we didn't have a clear idea of what we wanted to do... so then came the idea of the ghost. I didn't really want to do something too traditional and Tracy wanted it to be both spooky and sexy at the same time. We created our backdrop out of some items we already had and then picked up some "Scene Setters" from the local party store and went to work. A comination of Peat Moss, dead branches and tomb stones would give a decent look to it. Tracy's costume was another story altogether. We had no idea, all I knew is that I wanted something sheer and flowing. Some type of gauze would be perfect and while at the fabric store, we found something. We didn't really want to sew anything... so we cut enough fabric to cover Tracy and have it be long. Cut a hole through the head and then cut the arms to look long and flowy. To keep the arms together, I tacked them with fabric glue in two spots. Out came the scissors to give it a more ghostly look. Originally, we were going to make a sash to keep the sides closed, but once Tracy had covered herself in white makeup, I actually liked it better open. Because the fabric was pretty sheer and that we wanted to add another element to the look of the costume, we added some other fabric that we got at the Halloween store and that completed the look. The photo below is a sample from the shoot. This one has digital magic added to it to give her the ghostly look, the others probably won't. Look for the whole set to be posted at the end of the month on the site. Let me know what you think. | | Thursday, September 7th, 2006 | | 1:22 pm |
Dragon*Con is some ride! Yes I'm back and no, photos aren't nearly together. I will have some real soon and will post some of my favorites right here!
So in a very fast nutshell because I still have much to catch up on....
The bads:
1. Not having enough time to spend with everyone I wanted to. I had planned to connect with so many people (you know who you are) and saw a fraction of them, fortunately, some of you I saw during the past 3 weekends... 2. D*C was too spread out this year and I found it hard to run into people like normal. 3. Not costuming as much. Yes I was out during the day a lot, ulike last year but still found myself out of costume a lot. This year we costumed more in the day and less at night... 4. Breaking my camera and having to get a new one. Good thing there is a Wolf Camera in the mall.
The Goods: 1. Rooming with the Elvis Trooper, Justine and Randy (technically his room was attached to ours) 2. Randy's bed (I will explain later cause on it's own it sounds really odd) 3. Every minute I got to spend with old friends and new friends 4. Getting stuck in an elevator. This could have easily been a bad, but when you are with friends, it's all good, even the hot and sweaty part 5. Finally connecting with Miracole after several failed attemps all weekend long. 6. Party after party after party. I lost track of where I had been and where I was going next. 7. Wearing Ash at D*C
There are way more goods that I will go into later.... for now, back to catch up! | | Monday, August 21st, 2006 | | 10:50 am |
Dragon*Con is here bitches!!! Dragon Con is like next week!!!!
Man, I am beat. Dragon*Con is next week, I have one more weekend to do at the State Fair and then we fly out Wed to Atlanta.
Need to box up and ship out costume items this week for Atlanta too.
Trying to figure out exactly which costumes I want to wear. I really want to wear my Ash costume, but I haven't had as much time at the gym as I had hoped, so I still feel like a slug, so I am not sure if I want to subject myself to what I like to call, "The Window of Fat" lol.
Otherwise, I am bringing: Punisher Indiana Jones Batman probably some sort of Toga for the party
So we are staying at the Marriot this year for a change. Let's tear it up there! | | Monday, July 10th, 2006 | | 2:05 pm |
Tick Tick Tick 9 days till San Diego Comic Con... Schedule is posted too for those who care: http://www.comic-con.org/cci/index.shtmlEach day that passes I get more nervous that things won't be ready. I made a lot of progress this weekend though... The harness is basically done and the shirt is close to being done! I started here with the distressing... way too clean ( More under the cut ) | | Friday, July 7th, 2006 | | 2:26 pm |
Comic Con comes this way! With only 9 days left before we head to SCal for the San Diego Comic Con, I find myself running out of time. I have made progress with my "Ash" costume and hope to just about wrap it up this weekend. That is if I can avoid getting side tracked on say... The evil that is World of Warcraft. Here is a shot of my progress for the shirt and harness Does anyone know a good source for boots like these? Finding boots from the early 90's isn't so easy They look a lot like old Hi-Tecs | | Tuesday, June 27th, 2006 | | 12:34 pm |

Evil Dead, Batman and Wow I actually have a little to write about for a change. More than the nothing I write about anyway... So where to start? This last weekend we made an appearance at the 4th Anual Super Hero Day in 106 degree weather. Yea, that was fun. But we were well received and the kids dug it, so hey! That's Jewels as Batgirl, Tracy as Catwoman, Al as Green Lantern, me as the Batman and Scott as Sups. World or Warcraft has not consumed my soul, although I am enjoying it very much. Elbow has been hurting lately, so I have been laying off a little. I watched Evil Dead again last night looking to get some more costume details. Wanted to compare the end look of Ash to the Army of Darkness. So I got an update from my chainsaw and shotgun maker, he says it will be ready by Comic Con. Now if only I can get the other things done... that's on me and my need to learn how to work my leather sewing machine. I have been doing some work on the shirt and harness, here is a photo. It looks like crap so far, but it's a start. I need to go shopping for some stuff to make blood and dirt... That's it... 21 days till we head down to San Diego, so I better get cracking! | | Thursday, June 22nd, 2006 | | 9:54 am |
Never enough time! Man, Comic Con is like, 3 weeks away. I am no where near prepared either. I haven't lost the extra pounds that I wanted to (I can do something in 3 weeks though), although I have lost a few. Trying to tie up several loose ends... Costume progress report: ESB Han Solo - is mostly coming along. The jacket should be done soon and the new gun rig and tools should be here (hope). My boots need to do back to get cut down, they are like 2 inches too tall. Tracy is good with her ANH Leia, although she could use a better way to create her buns. Indiana Jones - isn't really an issue, although I am waiting on a few items, I have plenty of things I can sub if needed. Tracy's dress should be nearly done. We found a pair of shoes which should work ok. Batman - There have been all sorts of issues around this. The biggest issue is finding a heavy weight darker gray spandex. So who knows if I will do this or not... we will see. Tracy's Catwoman goggles have been sanded and repainted and hopefully we will get some metal ones one day.... Ash - There is a lot of work still to be done on this one. Still trying to find a good pair of pants although I did find a pair of brown Dickies that should work. Trying to find the right hiking boots has not been easy, they don't make em in that style anymore. I was able to find a good blue shirt and have started to distress it. I could use a couple more shirts though. Those are tough to find. I have also started on the chest harness... which should come together just fine. Need to clean off the area near my leather sewing machine so I can use it. The big problem there is my chainsaw, shotgun and metal hanger for the chest harness. I haven't been able to get in touch with the guy who is making them. Why is contracting out always such a pain? Tracy's dress is coming along nicely though: thanks to the good people at the-magic-wardrobe Logan/Wolverine - After this weekens superhero event, I need to not shave for the next 3 weeks. Hope I can get my chops together in time. My claws and belt buckle need some touch up, but otherwise, should be good if I can lose that weight I mentioned LOL. | | Thursday, May 18th, 2006 | | 11:36 am |

WOW update.... I feel the evil from World of Warcraft slowly consuming my soul. Last night after editing photos and working out (yes I still have the will to do the things I need to) I found myself playing past midnight. I know that this is only the start of things... I must be strong! | | Monday, May 8th, 2006 | | 10:02 am |
I am doomed... World of Warcraft So a few friends have been trying to talk me into playing WOW for a while now. I always resist because I have no time now as it is and don't really want to give up sleep for WOW. Anyway, Sat night, some friends brought their WOW laptop over for us to check out. And they just happened to bring the set up disk to. So anyway, they installed it, hooked me up with a guest account with free access for 10 days and so I checked it out. So yep... after playing yesterday for a few hours I now feel all of your pain. You know who you are... those who's lives have been consumed by WOW. Month of May and costume planning Man where does time go? We are into May already and time is just slipping away. The month is almost booked already too...
So going to bring some friends to Marine World this weekend, season passes gives free passes for friends, so cool. Plan to shoot some nice photos of animals and stuff.
Sunday hopefully I can get some costume work in and shoot a few photos and edit others.
Next weekend is Mother's day, but Sat I may have a photo shoot booked.
Weekend after that is a Comic Convention in Oakland and Adam and Allison will be out for that, so I consider that weekend a gonner.
Last weekend is Fanime and we plan to see Yaya this time considering that she didn't make it out for Cherry Blossom.
And just like that, the month is gone!
So in June, I am trying to schedule some photo shoots with a couple of models that want to shoot with me. The one that sounds like it could be fun will be with an Adult film star. She wants to do some of the more creative stuff that I normally shoot, so we are trying to come up with a really cool idea. I have wanted to do a series of shoots around horror movies so maybe we will do something like that.
Been doing a lot of planning around costumes... getting things in order for Ash (Army of Darkness), the upgrade of Indiana Jones, hopefully Logan (Wolverine) will make a return this season. The fun part will be getting Tracy's costumes ready. Marion from Raiders of the Lost Ark... the "Well of Souls" scene distressed white dress and she will also be going as a mid-evil girl from Army of Darkness, still planning out that costume. Need to repaint her Catwoman goggles too.
You know what also, if the Ash thing works out, I am thinking about the Ren Fair hahaha.
Well that's it for now! | | Monday, April 24th, 2006 | | 2:31 pm |

Silent Hill opens tomorrow!!! I can't wait for this movie, looks awesome. We saw some additional scenes while at WonderCon and they looks very cool.
Lots of other stuff going on this weekend, got a photoshoot tomorrow, then will be meeting with Yaya to hang out. Been since Dragon*Con since we have seen her. Then got another shoot for Sat and Sun. So somewhere in there we will break for the movie!
Other than that, what is new. I watched Jack and Sarah on Geek-Week.tv and their bit from Wizard World LA. Check it out, it's great.
On a more domestic front, we finally got a new washer/dryer/dishwasher. We will be paying for the next two years though lol. It's pretty cool, it's an all in one. Where else can you wash you plates and towels at the same time. Isn't technolgy awesome?
Picked up one of the new MR Darth Maul light sabers, that's pretty cool too, best one yet.
Working on planning out costumes for San Diego Comic Con and Dragon*Con.
Meh, that's it. | | Monday, April 10th, 2006 | | 10:16 am |
Samurai Champloo I got into this Anime series maybe a year ago... by accident really. Mind you, that I don't watch much anime but this one managed to catch my attention. I finally saw the last episode and it is done. I really enjoyed it. So tell me, if I liked Samurai Champloo, where do I go from here?
I like quality artwork, good stories and some action is nice. | | Monday, April 3rd, 2006 | | 11:28 am |
